Republic of Albania access to the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants of December 2, 1961, as revised at Geneva on November 10, 1972, on October 23, 1978, and on March 19, 1991. The United States Patent and Trademark Office announced on September 21, 2005 that it has awarded contracts to Landon IP, Inc., and IP Data Miner Inc., to participate in a Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) search pilot program. This pilot will determine whether searches by commercial entities can maintain the accuracy and quality standards for searches conducted by the USPTO during the patent examination process while remaining cost effective. On September 8 2005 Polish Patento Office received the first electronic patent application for the European Patent as it is written on Polish Patent Office webpage. It is the effect of the close cooperation with the European Patent Office. After the test phase all e-filling applications for EPC and PCT system will be avaliable for the public. The European Parliament approved amendments to a proposed regulation to enhance the development of pediatric medicines. According to the Article 36 of the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on medicinal products for paediatric use and amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 1768/92 of 18 June 1992 concerning the creation of a supplementary protection certificate for medicinal products (Official Journal L 182 , 02/07/1992 P. 0001 - 0005), Directive 2001/83/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 November 2001 on the Community code relating to medicinal products for human use (Official Journal L 311, 28/11/2001 P. 0067 - 0128), Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004 laying down Community procedures for the authorisation and supervision of medicinal products for human and veterinary use and establishing a European Medicines Agency (Official Journal L 136, 30/04/2004, P. 0001 - 0033), sets an additional six months' patent protection on a given medicine for children.
